    I suggested to Intel to include FPGA in their CPU back in 2001 but was ignored (I left the company some time after). Took them long enough but eventually they bought Altera.

    Intel seems more about incremental innovation than disruptive ones... Strange for a company that rich, but I guess some history is behind it. Itanium perhaps?

    Back in 2001, it didn't make sense to combine an FPGA and CPU into a single chip. It was a good business decision on Intel's part to not do this back then.
