I've been an Android early adopter from the start *cough*sucker*/cough* but the upgrade to the Logitech Revue has been the thing I'm MOST anticipating. We use the Google TV box regularly right now, but it's just too slow, clunky, and version 1.0-ish. If they can pull this off without me having to buy a new Google TV box, Logitech will have taken themselves off the naughty list.

Now if I could just get a working SD slot and my LTE upgrade in my Xoom.... :)

Wow! Tell me you've got a G1 tucked away somewhere and I'll be really impressed! Good luck with the Revue, send us some pics when you get the update!

Will TV's be the de-facto device for casual browsing?

The biggest draw for me seems to be their always on/instant on capability....and the comfort factor that most people have with ther TV's.
TV's come across as non-threatning & accessible as compared to the complexity perceived to be inherent with computers.

Most causal users fall in the category of surfing/multimedia/light gaming
There's no need for them to turn on a PC/Laptop/Tablet....if the TV can provide this basic functionality

The holy-grail of convergence seems to be achievable.....one device to rule them all

    Comfort factor ?
My PC screen is a 40" LCD TV (led) ... I don't think it will ever be as comfortable as a tablet (which I don't own) or a PC, and I doubt there's anything complex in an iProduct ;)

Considering the chip mentionned above, I believe you can forget about that light gaming if it meant flash games ;) - but yes we will soon have h264 + flash + stuff under 1 watt and it will go in every television (no tvbox) instead of the current stuff they put in.

This kind of convergence is risky if the cost isn't almost nil. I think Gruber or Gartenberg covered this recently, the TV is not a good convergence device because you don't replace your TV as often as almost anything else in the house. Indeed, but for the HD switchover, I don't know anyone that has replaced a TV that was working just fine.

I think STB's are here to stay. But if TV's do become the convergence device, the chipsets will have to be potent enough to withstand at least two years of strong updates.

I love AnandTech articles, but this one has at least four errors in the span of a few sentences. A little revision before posting couldn't hurt, could it?

Sorry, editing at midnight makes things tough. Will go through it again with a fine toothed comb. Throw me any suggestions. Thanks.

Did google TV ever get a resolution with hulu, etc? I really love the idea, but the rampant content blocking and other rough edges have kept me off it.

This summer? Well that settle's it. It will be yet another Atom box that's still probably like $200-$250. Hasn't Google learned anything from the last launch? They need to put ARM chips in those box to make them cheaper. Hopefully, we'll start seeing some Tegra 3 set top boxes soon with gamepad support.

Content Blockers are mean! About 2-3 day from buying the original one and the broadcasting trolls showed up and blocked all the content. My Samsung does youtube why do I need this unless it does Angry birds.... That's in Chrome browser now.... whats the point.

Yes, I still have my G1 and now my G2, and I am new to Google TV. I was annoyed at the setup problems with the Logitech server errors (still occurring), but since then I have been very happy with Google TV. I m very excited about the promised Honeycomb update and highly recommend Google TV to my friends.
