They do not have a configurator on their website like Dell does. I was looking at some of their laptops and I was like cool, where do I go to customize it before I order it.
Then I never went back even though they might be in the top three manufactures.
What manufacturer at this level does not let people configure the laptop they way they want it. I guess this is the only one. or one of the few
A quick comparison to a Dell Alienware laptop clocked up over $2,900 trying to match the G73JH's stats, without even including a Blu-Ray player. This seems like a good pre-order deal, IMHO!
"The goal is simple. ASUS wants to become one of the top three portable PC vendors by 2011."
I could see them doing it in the consumer market, but unless they totally change their customer support structure, it's not going to happen in the business world, IMO.
Im drooling over the ASUS G73Jh gaming laptop. I've been struggling with what would be my best option to steam my media and back up my dvds/blue rays. That laptop looks to fit the bill plus replace my current Gateway FX gaming laptop.
adding, I'm thinking forget the streaming hassle I've been going through and just hook that laptop directly to my TV on a moments notice when needed. 1tb built in storage plus easily add an external if more storage is needed. That'd be sweet.
The link "ASUS G53Jh Gallery" is for the ASUS G73Jh.
Got my hopes up a little when I saw G53Jh. I wanted all those specs to be for a 15" version. Typically, G7X series is for the 17" models. I could be wrong too. I didn't see the screen size really listed.
Thanks for the coverage. I'm hungry for all things CES 2010. Keep feeding me!

Just use a third-party seller if you want your ASUS laptop customised prior to delivery. For example, Xotic PC (http://www.xoticpc.com/asus-g73jha1-order-p-2731.h...">http://www.xoticpc.com/asus-g73jha1-order-p-2731.h... has the ASUS G73JH-A1 available for pre-order ($1,645) and offers some customisation options prior to purchase.

Sorry, that hyperlink has a bracket on the end of it. Just remove it and it'll work fine. Apologies for the sloppy cut-n-paste.AznBoi36 - Wednesday, January 6, 2010 - link

Sorry... got my numbers mixed up. :-)This is the G73Jh, building on the core concepts of the G60/70 series. The specs are on one of the slides in the gallery, but it's a 17.3" LCD.
