Seems a waste not to add the ninth chip. They have the pad right there!

A bit misleading to lead with a pic of a double-height, ECC DIMM when the article's not about either.

I hate how ECC is still locked behind a paywall rather than the norm for all quality RAM.

Doesn't seem double height to me, just double row.

Yeah, it looks like someone stole it

So, you want 34GB RAM sticks?

    :p

That's a pretty good price for 32 GB dimms. I'm looking at ECC memory for an Epyc server build and the equivalent memory is closer to $250 per dimm.

Both Samsung and Crucial Registered 32GB modules are under 170 euros including VAT here in germany. You should look for other stores.

I wait for same thing in SO-DIMM & 3200 if possible.
  • yuhong - Wednesday, June 12, 2019 - link

The SO-DIMMs are already out there.

Wow.... prices has really come down a lot.

And yet they are still too expensive for what they offer. It should be half that. Oh well, maybe next year, if the RAM market sees the same crash the SSD market did (and from the looks of it, it will, just a little more slowly).

Most likely prices goes up if people start buying those new Ryzen cpus and Intel cpu shortage ends, next year we will have more expensive ram and more expensive ssd because people start buyin new Computer for a long time!

That is really cheap. I wonder since these are desktop focused if they have some 3200 Mhz or faster planned?
